In between the Old and New Testaments of the Word of God, (the Bible), lies 400 years of history. During this Intertestamental period of time, God chose not to speak to His people through the prophets as He orchestrated people, politics, and events in preparation of the coming Messiah, (the Lord Jesus Christ.) Scholars have come to call these four centuries of time "the silent years." Remarkably, the silence would be broken by a newborn Baby's cry in Bethlehem.
